In memory of Dr. Tomisaku Kawasaki from Ling-sai Chang in Taiwan
Ling-sai Chang
Immunology and Rheumatology in
Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital.
Director of department of Pediatric Allergy
I was expecting to make a pilgrimage to Dr. Kawasaki at the Kawasaki Conference after the coronavirus has gone down. Sorry that I missed the last meeting. I was shocked to hear of the death of Dr. Kawasaki. In recognition of Dr. Kawasaki’s contribution, Mucocutaneous Lymph Node Syndrome is named after Dr. Kawasaki’s last name. Dr. Kawasaki’s efforts have been noticed not only by patients but also by researchers and pediatricians like me around the world. He seemed to have a zest for Kawasaki disease and was willing to share that zest with others. I am honored to join the Kawasaki Disease Center established by Professor Kuo Ho-Chang in Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. My expertise ranks in the top 2.1% of 9,387 published authors worldwide on Kawasaki disease based on contributions to 10 articles on the topic from 2010 through 2020 by the recent record in website expertscape. Thank you for the good idea and the job well done.
Dr. Kawasaki’s contribution to the Kawasaki disease is greatly appreciated! Dr. Kawasaki’s loss is painful. Please accept our condolences from Taiwan. After Dr. Kawasaki leaves, Kawasaki disease will not disappear, and we will continue to study Kawasaki disease and successfully treat children with Kawasaki disease.
